Shawna and Luda seem to be on edge

I’ve been hearing some terrible rumors about Shawna formerly DTP princess who started out with Luda from before the lick from your head to toe days.  They came up in the rap game together, Luda made it first and put her on, now they’re both in there, Luda a little larger with a label and all that Shawna was signed to.  OK that was the two line history of Shawna and Luda, now here’s the news.  Shawna left DTP records and is now signed with T Pains label Nappy Boy records.  This isn’t such shocking news but the bad part is since Luda put her on get her signed and famous, he found out about the signing through the internet.  Bad business from someone that you grew up and blew up with.  But I guess that’s how life goes, no one believes in keeping it real with those that keep it real with you.   Now here’s some other news regarding this incident, Luda’s next album battle of the sexes was supposed to be a duet of Luda and Shawna going at each other on different topics.  That is not going on any more, now this album is going to be a compilation of several artists including, Flo Rida, Ne Yo, Ciara and Plies.  Bangladesh, Swizz and J.U.S.T.I.C.E League have contributed production so far.

of cocaine.  On Tuesday January 26th Buju’s high powered lawyers, David Markus Marc and David Seitles, claim that the government entrapped Buju into purchasing the cocaine using an informant whom they refuse to release his name.  I’m sure because they are still using him to arrest others.  The informant who Buju met in July 2009 on a flight from Spain to Florida spent months trying to purchase the cocaine.  “In addition to refusing to disclose the identity, the government has refused to identify the prior cases in which he has been involved, the outcomes of those cases, the amount of money he has earned making cases for the government, or even the amount he has been paid (or expects to be paid) in this case,” the court papers read.  Even though Buju wasn’t present when the Sting operation went down, the police claim they have audio and video of him testing the cocaine.  Sounds a bit fishy to me, but Buju is being held without bail and plead not guilty in Tampa, Florida.

I know a lot of you are, but I’m not a big Lil Wayne fan.  His rap style is a bit bland for me.  His latest album Rebirth seems exactly that.  A musical rebirth of Lil Wayne, new style of music not your average tracks, a lot of singing and rock style music.  Is that what it is now?  Sounds like a fuse or Rock and Hip Hop, well since I personally like rock music, I like the album.  It’s different, creative, he has some nice guests and it’s rock music.  So what else can I say, guilty of liking rock music.  Guest appearances by Shanell, Nicki Manaji, Kevin Rudolph, Tyga and Gudda Gudda.  Check the album out for yourself and see if you like it.  Lil Wayne is doing a lot of singing with the help of autotune on this album.  I already know most of you will because Lil Wayne can take a sh!t on a track and people would eat it up.  Even though I get a kick out of talking trash about his personal life, this right here is the realness, cop that.  Click the widget to preview and/or buy this album.

Now Ashanti’s last album wasn’t all that, a little bland in comparison to the other artists that she’s competing with.  I think she realizes that it’s time to step her game up.  What better way to do it than to go into the studio with Dr Dre and his recently rejoined artist Game.  She didn’t really say what they were up to, but if she really wants to keep up with Beyonce I think she should make her music better.  Her last album wasn’t terrible, there was just not a whole lot there that sparked my interest too much.  Plus it kind of put me to sleep, it’s nice to know she’s working on some new stuff and also finding better producers.  I hope she also finds better writers and has more uptempo songs.  Her last album kind of put me to sleep.  So good luck Ashanti and may you get back to where you used to be with your music.  Not only that she’s in a movie, Resident Evil 3, that’s coming out this year.  She sounds busy this year.  Check her in the picture above with Dre, Game and some fat dude and check out her interview below.  Is it just me or is Ashanti looking rather hot these days?

Everyone knows Ed Lover is crazy right.  From his days back when he was with the fat Dr Dre on Yo MTV raps.  To his radio show on Hot 97, even today his radio show on Power 105, he has been a clown and made us laugh ever since.  You got to see the videos on his website cmonsononline.com.  He just goes in on every and anybody he likes.  I love it, it’s uncut and mad funny, you should check it.  It seems everyone has a blog, but his is pretty funny.  Here’s his latest video, he usually comes out with them every month or so, I guess whenever he has time.  He really goes hard on Lil Mama and Kanye West, oh yeah don’t forget how he murdered Lamar Odom.  Remember the movie “Who’s the Man,”  classic stupidity right there.

This is the funniest Kanye story ever, producers of the George Clooney’s telethon for victims of Haiti have barred Kanye West from performing because of past actions at other telethons and award shows.  Mentioned was when he performed at the Katrina telethon, he got on stage and said George Bush doesn’t care about black people.  We all knew this but, he didn’t really have to say it on tv, you know that’s gonna get you in trouble.  Also mentioned was when he grabbed the mic from Taylor Swift and said Beyonce had on of the best videos of all time.  She did?  Hmmm wonder why he said that, wonder why he grabbed the mic from the fine ass white girl.  Oh whatever the answer is it got him barred from performing at the Haiti telethon.  Well actually I think he grabbed the mic from Ms Swift because he was drunk.  He was swigging Henny straight from the bottle on the red carpet that night.  The only person alive who can shut Kanye up is Jay Leno when he asked him, what do you think your mother would have said if she were alive when you grabbed the mic from Taylor?  Damn Jay!

A lot of you younger peeps may not remember Apache from back in the day.  He made the song “Gansta B!tch” a big hit back in 1992.  “Gangsta Bitch” reached number 11 on the billboard charts, a big deal for Hip Hop back in those days.  He died on Jan 22 of an undisclosed illness.  Apache was one of the first Flava Unit artists founded by Queen Latifa.  He pretty much is made the Flava Unit blow up and helped launch Latifa’s career to stardom.  This is terrible news for the Hip Hop world, we suffered a terrible loss.  Check out his song…
