Female Hip Hop artist Tina

by EJah on Feb.19, 2010, under Artists, Introduction, Music

The shortage of women in Hip Hop has been terrible.  There has been a lack of women even wanting to rap, and when Tinayou find them, they’re not that good.  Back in Hip Hop’s hey day there female rappers weren’t as prevalent as males, but there seemed to be plenty.  Sha Rock, Pebbley Poo, Lisa Lee, Sequence, MC Lyte, Salt and Peppa, Hurricane G, Roxxane Shante and so on.  Now it seems like there are so few, Nicky Minaj, Lil Kim (who fell off so bad), Trina, Foxy Brown (also fell off), Remy Ma after that, who?  Well this shortage of female rappers has me combing Myspace Music and other sites for some lyrical Queens.  Here I found one that like, Tina, straight from Chicago.  Chicago know for it’s own Hip Hop history so you would imagine some good product comes from there.  Check her Myspace page, listen to her music and read her bio below and let me know what you think.  I think I’ve told you before, I think Chicago women are hot!  I’ve checked out her songs and they sound nice, check for yourself.

I have also joined forces with my Mother to start a lifestyle company called ” In-spire Lifestyles” the overall aim is to sell jewellery, life coaching and fitness under the “In-spire Lifestyles” banner. Apart from working on this, I have also re-ignited my passion for the Arts and I am currently working along side a UK Journalist on their own online magazine. I am also acting and re-affirming my skills by acting in a short film, which I am currently working on now. All of this and I still work full-time.!!

Eve in Money laundering case

by EJah on Feb.19, 2010, under Artists, News

All you people that claim to be gangsta need to take a lesson from Eve.  Eve has an off and on man named Teodoro EveNguema.  He is the son of Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the president of Equatorial Guinea who is being investigated for laundering money between several US banks.  ABC News says that Eve’s name is mentioned in the investigation which has been going on for the past three years.  Has me wondering if this is drug money that’s being laundered, most likely is. Nguema has been known for setting up front companies through lawyers, friends and Eve.  He then wires cash to himself to live his lavish lifestyle, he purchased a mansion in Malibu California in cash.  Eve has been named president of Sweet Pink Inc, that used employees to work at Nguema’s ranch, Sweet Pink Inc was set up in 2005.  Sounds like a lot of trouble coming up for Eve, probably something she could’ve avoided, but we’ll see what’s good, she may not get into too much trouble.  I just wish she would’ve gotten in the news for a new album or something to show these rookie female rappers how it’s done.

Ras Kass asks fans to help with album

by EJah on Feb.19, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop, Music, News

Here’s some great marketing made famous from the independent rapper Ras Kass.  He’s asking fans to donate money so Ras Kasshe can release his next album on CD and Vinyl.  The not titled as of yet will have 18 to 20 tracks on a limited edition CD and Vinyl.  There’s also no release date but he’s trying to raise $3800 is supposed to fund the cost of the CD’s and Vinyl.  The studio time was funded by the fans who supported his last album The Quarterly.  Check the site KickStarter.com t0 see the insentives for making donations.  For example if you pledge $15 or more you get a copy of the CD and link on Kass website.  Sounds like a great idea, and it seems like fans have his back.  There’s no official release for his album but it is supposed to drop spring of 2010.  Check for it, Kass is a great lyricist from back in the day.

Mystikal sex tape?

by EJah on Feb.19, 2010, under Artists, News

MystikalMystikal recently release from prison after serving 6 years for rape and distortion.  Something about a gal that owed him money, he and his homies trained her and he told her not to tell.  The key evidence in the trial was a video tape found in the house of him and his crew forcing sex upon her.  Now supposedly there’s a new sex tape of Mystikal that was supposed to be him raping the girl, different from what was shown at his trial.  This video was supposed to come out on Feb 17th, 2010.  This is a rumor not true at all, most likely started by the company that made the porn tape Liquid City 2 that actually came out right before he went to jail. So everyone thinking that his rape video is coming to a website near you, don’t hold your breath.  Even if someone had that tape, I don’t think I would post it on the internet for fear of the FBI coming knocking at your door.  But on the real, what was Mystikal doing recording a rape any way?  Some criminals deserve to be caught out of stupidity.

E 40 back with two albums

by EJah on Feb.13, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop, Music, News

E 40's Revenue Retrievin' Night ShiftRevenue Retrievin' Day Shift

Remember Mr E 40, Bay Area rapper blazing up the early 90′s.  He’s coming back with two albums dropping on the same day, March 30th.  These albums will be his 13th and 14th albums, totaling 38 tracks some of the guests are Snoop Dogg, Gucci Mane, Mistah F.A.B., Messy Marv and Too Short.  Some of the producers are Jazzy Pha, J. Valentine, and Bobby V.  Sounds like the old school brotha is trying to keep up with the young boys.  The name of the albums are Revenue Retrievin Night Shift and Revenue Retrievin Day Shift.  Seems like a lot of old skool rappers are trying to make a come back, I’m guessing they’re tired of the quality of rap music being played all over the airwaves these days.  Even though he’s been releasing albums, his last album The Ball Street Journal released last year, this seems to be one of the most important ventures he’s made in a while.  Check for both albums due March 30th and tune into www.HipHope.com for the revue of the albums coming soon.

Game officially back to Aftermath Records

by EJah on Feb.13, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop, News

Game back to Aftermath Records

Game back to Aftermath Records

Twitter is becoming more official for celebrity news than ever.  Game announced through his Twitter page, that he is moving back to Aftermath Records.  Originally on Aftermath when he first came out, he left in 2006 after a beef between him and Dr Dre then he signed to Geffen Records.  He left after 50 Cent said it was either him or me that leave.  Of course Dre couldn’t let his biggest money maker go, so it had to be Game.  But in the photo you see him wearing chains with the letter A for Aftermath.  Hmmmm I’m wondering how 50 is going to take this news.

Dr Dre Suing over the Cronic

by EJah on Feb.13, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop, Music, News

Dre isn’t scared of Mr Suge Knight any more. He’s suing over royalties from the original the Cronic album. He claims he Dr Drehasn’t been paid any royalties on the album since 1996 when he split from Death Row records. Since then the Cronic has been re released without Dre’s permission. The newly revamed Death Row records now called WIDEawake Death Row records, the company WIDEawake bought into Death Row records after it filed for bankruptcy after Dre and Snoop left. There have also been other releases of the Cronic including a greatest hits and digital copies being sold that Dre wants royalties on. I’m just wondering why Dre waited so long to file suit, hopefully he has the legal rights to get paid.

Lil Wayne gives up Syzurp

Lil Wayne know for sippin on some syzurp

Lil Wayne know for sippin on some syzurp

Lil Wayne gets news once again, this time not for getting someone pregnant though.  An actual positive story about Weezy.  Lil Wayne has been synonymous for walking around with styrofoam cups full of syzurp, cough syrup mixed with codine that gets you f—ed up.  But in his latest interview with Rolling Stone magazine.  He says he hasn’t had any since May 2009.  Sounds good, for a rapper that’s been linked to doing heroin, cocaine, syzurp and weed through most of his career has given up the syzurp.  He kicked heroin, no he gives up the syzurp, cold-turkey he says.  We’ll see how it goes, check for styrofoam cups when he makes public appearances.  Mad props to Wayne and good luck on kicking the habit.  I’m not a big fan of Lil Wayne’s music, but I do love his f— what you think attitude he has though.

Foxy Brown back, disses Jay Z and Lil Kim (again)

by EJah on Feb.07, 2010, under Artists, News

Foxy Boogie Brown is back with a new single “Let Em Know” featuring Easy Mo Bee and Bam.  Song sounds OK, some ol’ Foxy Brown rap style, not too bad, but nothing to write home about.  But what stands out on the track is her diss of Lil Kim talking about her selling out and going on Dancing with the stars.  Here’s the verse, “I’d rather be in the club at the bar, then go disrespect my hood by dancing with the stars… I’m BK’s Don Diva/ Give the whole hood face lifts/ G’wan I fix your face b—-.”  Good one Fox, but why did she disrespect BK by appearing on Dancing With the Stars?  Then she raps about Jay Z, “The streets talking/ Got the hood crazy,” N—- heard I fucked with Ross and had the n—- baby/ They said I f—– with Nas and now they say it’s AZ/ but on the law, the real n—- was Jay-Z.  Oh she put her and Jay Z’s business out in the streets, why we’ll never know, I guess to sell records.  Check out the song below….

Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma sexual relationship?

by EJah on Feb.07, 2010, under Artists, News

I’m a man, I’ll admit, when I first heard this rumor that I was a bit turned on.  Two of the hottest Hip Hop female Remy ma and Nicki Minajrappers out now having sex.  Then I saw the video below of the woman who claims to be Nicki Manaj then that just messed everything up for me because she didn’t look the super hot Minaj that we’re used to seeing like the picture above.  But in the video she’s bragging about how she used to sex Remy and now Remy acts like she doesn’t know her and blah blah blah.  But the chick in the video doesn’t even look like Minaj, but also says that she’s from the Boogie (the Bronx).  But I thought Minaj was from Queens.  I guess that’s not a big deal because I’m from the Boogie, but I live in Brooklyn now, if you asked where I’m from I’d just say Brooklyn.  But the gal in the video does look like Minaj dressed up like a butch but I can’t tell.  Check out the way she calls Remy on the phone and gets hung up on.  Remy sounded like she was gonna talk to her but once she started saying why you frontin’ on me stuff.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

The Green Ghost Project – Styles P and DJ Green Lantern Feb 2, 2011

by EJah on Feb.02, 2010, under Artists, Hip Hop, Review

We all know Styles P flow by now.  He used to run in the shadows of Jadakiss then somewhere along the lines he just Styles P and DJ Green Lantern - Green Ghost Projectturned into a beast.  His solo efforts have been good for the most part, but now he seems to have his formula down pact.  Rhyming with production from Green Lantern he came off lovely.  With his gangsta rhymes and word play is all good.  The beats on this album are hard to death.  Guest appearances are Sheek Louch (no doubt), Tre Williams, Dwayne Collins, Jadakiss (of course), Raekwon, Noreaga, Uncle Murda, June Summers, S.I. and M.O.P.  Production from the likes of Green Lantern, Scram Jones, The Alchemist, Buckwild, Dutchez Beatz, Static Selekta, Vinny Idol, Dame Grease and Poobs.  Some of these names make you say, “Who?”  But don’t worry, big names aren’t what make this album, it’s the street style, hard rhymes and ill production going on.  Make Millions From Entertainment and Time Will Tell are stand out tracks on the album, but don’t sleep on the rest of the songs.  Drug rhymes are a little played out but there’s not as many as he usually has on his albums.  I would give this album a 8 out of 10, not quite a classic, but a great album no doubt!
